Nobby’s week 1 in review

Archives

imagePlenty of surprises in week 1 of the new season, and it was Man City who stuck the biggest flag in the ground with a very convincing win away at WBA. Yaya scored twice and Kompany got the third.

United and Spurs put on drab season opener which was not surprisingly settle by an own goal. Chelsea were fortunate in the end to get a draw at home to Swansea, with Courtois putting a frown on a lot of N&R manager faces, and much to everyone’s surprise Arsenal lost at home to West Ham. Hammers’ fans being the most shocked!

Coutinho scored a late winner for Liverpool at Stoke, Villa put a pin in Bournemouth’s balloon, Norwich controversially lost at home to Palace and Watford were very unfortnate not to beat Everton at Goodison.

Newcastle played well to draw 2-2 with Southampton and Leicester produced the performance of the week thrashing a defensively woeful Sunderland 4-2.
