Man U went top of the PL taking Sunderland apart without breaking sweat at the OT 3-0. Even Wayne Rooney scored! In fact it was the week that the non-firing strikers found their shooting boots, just after we’d all transferred them out.
Harry Kane found the net in Spurs’ incredible 4-1 win over Man C, in which 4 of the 5 goals were clearly offside. De Bruyne did score again however. Alexis Sanchez hit a hat trick as Arsenal won 5-2 at Leicester in a cracking game of football. The goals were Sanchez’s first of the season.
Daniel Sturridge scored twice for Liverpool as they nipped past Villa 3-2. Chelsea left St James Park with what ended up a great point as Newcastle threw away a 2-0 lead, but it was a much improved display from the Geordies.
Stoke won 2-1 at home to Bournemouth, the Potters’ first PL win of the season and Norwich were unfortunate not to take all 3 points from Upton Park after they allowed a late Kouyate equaliser.
Southampton continued their uptick in form beaitng Swansea 3-1 and a late Cabaye pen gave Palace victory at Watford.
Then on Monday night in a riveting 2nd half Everton had to thank Romelu Lukako for inspiring to a great comeback to beat WBA 3-2 at The Hawthorns.
