Spennymoor Town exited the FA Cup, the first time they have been in the 1st Round proper, to MK Dons 3-2 on Saturday.
Spennymoor Town fought back from 3-0 down in the first round of the FA Cup today but narrowly missed out on forcing a replay at Brewery Field.
Moors went into the game as big underdogs against the League One strugglers, but in confident mood but were 0-2 down after 12 minutes through goals from MK Dons’ Ben Reeves and Brandon Thomas-Asante, the game seemed to be slipping away before it got started and after a goal from Kieran Agard in the 15th minute it looked all but over.
But, JOE TAIT’s headed goal from a set piece just minutes later breathed new life into the side and a late goal from Spennymoor’s ANDREW JOHNSON gave MK Dons a nervous final few minutes to close out the game. 4,099 were in attendance.
MK Dons were drawn against someone called Charlton Athletic in the 2nd Round.
